Hi everyone,
I, like many of you, was inconvenienced today, as we wait to regain access to Holton, and as we collectively deal with a difficult day, let’s focus on what we can do to move forward together as a community that supports and uplifts one another. When you come in next and pick up where you left off, I humbly ask you to say something kind to someone that isn’t in your normal orbit here.

Many of you have asked when the gallery will be open to the public…
I’m happy to announce that Artisans is creating a new Deskie Position called Deskie Docent.
The Deskie Docent is an evolution of the typical front desk volunteer role, with a focus on assisting and introducing visitors to the Gallery.
Docents will have focused interactions with gallery visitors, and as such need to be warm and welcoming and professional. A Deskie Docent represents the Gallery and will have a forward-facing role in championing Artisans Asylum to the greater Boston creative community. The Deskie Docent will be tasked with the role of accompanying visitors that wish to see and explore the gallery space.
The Deskie Docent is a representative for the Gallery during their shift. They will need to learn and be prepared to speak about the art that is present in the current show. They will be able to answer questions that guests (from members to first-time visitors) may have about the show.
The Deskie Docent will be stationed at the Front Desks with other Deskies. They will accompany visitors over to the Gallery, then with the visitors for the duration of time that the visitors will be in the space.
Customer service expectations
Actively engage with Gallery visitors and ensure they have a pleasant visit
Be comfortable sharing knowledge about the current artwork with visitors
Excited and eager to talk to people and be helpful
Willing to memorize a brief script
