How To Install the Discourse Mobile App

You can access Discourse easily on mobile! It is harder to navigate than a browser view, but still useful for those who rely on mobile apps.

Two ways of installing:

  1. Download the Discourse App (Discourse or Discourse Hub on the App Store).

Navigate to the “Discover” Tab
Enter into the search bar: discourse.artisans-collab.org/
Click the plus icon next to it (will turn green when added)
Discourse link will be added to the “Home” Tab

  1. Save the discourse website as an app shortcut
    (for chrome)

Navigate to the site on the chrome browser
Tap the three dots
Tap “add to home screen”

Full Disclosure: 1) & 2) basically lead to the same interface. The Discourse app just redirects you to a browser window. But if you have multiple discourse sites, it keeps them all in one place.

Something about this setup, of just saving a webpage seems like I won’t be able to get push notifications to my phone. Is this possible on Android? With more digging I might be able to figure it out, but I also want to test using the platform… sorry if it is an easy answer

I am able to get push notifications - i think its a browser or app setting you would need to enable
