The financial report was very encouraging! It was reassuring to learn that we’re moving out of a tough financial situation, and now we can focus on building cautiously. I also appreciated seeing the survey statistics; it was nice to see everyone’s input coming together. The focus groups offered a valuable opportunity to express our thoughts, though they felt a bit structured and scripted. It would be even better if there were more flexibility to bring up specific concerns, so we could openly discuss ways to improve going forward.

Hi - I enjoyed the meeting, and I’m happy that the financial situation is not quite so dire. Two things -

  1. I really like the name Artisans Asylum
  2. Why don’t we have a shop? There should be things to buy at the front desk - t-shirts, bumper stickers, mugs, whatever, that say “Artisans Asylum” AND we should have a store through which any creator could sell their own work, with the Asylum taking a cut. There should be both an IRL store (I believe this idea is not new) and an online store. I know this would take time, money, and effort, but surely it could be done. It would increase visibility for AA, give makers a place to sell, and would generate at least a trickle of income.
